Labor Support

Labor/Birth Support 

Receive nurturing comfort and physical and emotional support during labor, birth, and limited postpartum.

Benefits of birth package include: 

  • 2 prenatal visits to discuss your vision for your birth, address any fears/concerns that may be present, develop a birth plan, and to review comfort measures, relaxation techniques, and birthing positions.

  • Unlimited edits to your birth plan as needed until the day of birth.

  • Continuous informational, emotional, and physical support pre-birth, throughout your entire labor and delivery, and up to 2 hours postpartum, including breastfeeding support.

  • On-Call for expectant parents 24/7 from 37-42 weeks gestation.

  • One 2 hour postpartum visit one-two weeks after birth in your home.

  • Backup doula:  Every client will have a doula backup available in the rare instance that Lauren is unable to attend your birth due to unforeseen circumstances.

**Additional prenatal visits can be added for an additional fee.

Birth/labor preparaton

Birth & Labor  Preparation Session

This service is great for families that would like the knowledge and resources provided by a Doula but prefer to birth privately.


Benefits of birth & labor preparation session include:

  • One 3-4 hour prenatal visit, in the comfort of your own home.

  • Discuss your health, birth history, fears and concerns regarding birth.

  • Discuss your desires for your birth.

  • Customized birth preferences/plan created specifically to match your vision.

  • Unlimited editions to your birth preferences as needed until the day of birth.

  • Learn the stages of labor and how to best support through each stage. 

  • Review benefits and practice different labor and birthing positions.

  • Practicing comfort measures for you, your partner, and support team.

  • Provide informational guidance to your partner/support person so they can advocate and best assist during labor.

Lactation services

Lactation Consultation

Need resources, support, or guidance during your breastfeeding journey?  As a Certified Lactation Support Counselor, I am here to provide education and in-person support with demonstrations to help you obtain a successful breastfeeding relationship with your little one.

Benefits of a lactation consultation include: 

  • An evaluation of a feeding. 

  • Discussing specific concerns and troubleshooting current routine when necessary. 

  • Assistance with latch-on issues and demonstration of techniques and feeding positions.

  • Learn how to effectively hand express and other massage techniques to address current issues.

  • Will also address concerns regarding but not limited to:

    • Breast and nipple pain.

    • Engorgement or plugged ducts. 

    • Milk supply (oversupply or undersupply).

  • Develop a personalized plan. 

  • Additional phone or email support if needed. 

Postpartum service

Postpartum Support

As your doula, my goal is to provide a nurturing atmosphere in which everyone can gently and confidently integrate into the new family dynamic. Whether a new parent or you’ve been around the block already, research shows there are impressive benefits to having postpartum support while navigating the unpredictable and varied challenges of parenthood.

 

My mission is getting you to trust your instincts all while providing a listening ear.  The personalized guidance you receive will build confidence, decrease stress, improve breastfeeding success, and more. 

 

I am there to provide researched based guidance for infant care, sibling adjustment, and lactation. Additional benefits of postpartum support include:

  • Guidance through emotional and physical birth recovery.

  • Newborn care support such as changing, feeding, swaddling, bathing, and soothing. 

  • Baby-wearing.

  • Basic lactation support, referrals, and education.*

  • Light housekeeping, laundry, and light meal preparation. 

  • Grocery shopping, practical tasks, and errands.

  • Accompaniment to appointments, support groups, etc.

  • Nursery organization.

  • Parental rest and rejuvenation. 

  • Referrals as needed.

*Basic lactation support includes assistance with latch, positioning, and education around normal newborn feeding behavior and routines.  Full lactation evaluation with history, intake paperwork, and care plan will fall under lactation services and a lactation session will need to be purchased at a discounted investment.
